Quebec Roots: The Place Where I Live was developed in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education curriculum coordinator for English-Language Arts. Since 2005, the programme brings together professional writers and photographers with young anglophones across Quebec to stimulate their creativity and critical skills, and to develop their awareness about some of the ways in which anglophones and their communities contribute to Quebec's cultural diversity. The programme aims encourage teamwork and foster an exploration of identity through a close look at the communities in which young people live.
Students from schools all over the province have participated in the programme, including schools in the Lower North Shore, Nunavik, James Bay, the Eastern Townships, and the city of Montreal. Past participants have included Louise Abbott, Monique Dykstra, Claire Holden Rothman, Monique Polak, Carolyn Marie Souaid, Phil Jenkins, Thomas Kneubühler and Joel Silverstein.

The book Quebec Roots: The Place Where I Live 2009, which was launched in April 2010 at the 12th Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival, is now available for purchase.

Entre 2004 et 2008, plusieurs classes ont eu l'opportunité de s'initier à la création d'une bande dessinée et d'aborder le thème sensible de la violence. Accompagnés par un psychoéducateur, les ateliers animés par des auteurs et illustrateurs professionnels ont permis aux enfants de créer leurs propres planches. Un moyen créatif et efficace de s'ouvrir aux livres et à la lecture.
Les éditions Metropolis bleu ont publié en 2005 et en 2006 deux recueils, rassemblant les meilleures planches. Ces ouvrages sont en vente au coût de 10$ l'unité ou 16$ les deux. Frais de port en sus.
A number of classes had the opportunity to explore the art of cartooning and touch on the sensitive issue of violence. Professional authors and illustrators, assisted by a psycho educator, helped the children create their own cartoons. A creative and fun way to introduce children to books and reading.
