JASPREET SINGH's Seventeen Tomatoes: Tales from Kashmir won the 2004 McAuslan First Book Prize. He recently finished writing Speak Oppenheimer, a play, for Montreal's Infinitheatre. He was the 2006-2007 Markin-Flanagan writer-in-residence at the University of Calgary. Chef is his first novel.
