Frank Giorno was born in Montalto Uffugo, Calabria, Italy. He lives in Toronto with his two children Sophie and Giancarlo. He has a B.A. from York University and a journalism degree from Ryerson University. He's worked as a journalist, environmental activist and government communications advisor (with both provincial and municipal governments).
His two books of poetry, Elvis in America (2006) and Arrivederci! Plastic-Covered Couch (2008) were both published by LyricalMyrical Press, Toronto.
